One of my favorite things about photography is that I get to capture beautiful moments for my own family. Everyone says that time flies when you have kids, but I didn't truly get that until my own little one turned one. That first year of her life flew by so fast! I feel like it was just yesterday that we were holding her in our arms for the very first time. I've done a great job of capturing moments for other families, but I realized that I wasn't keeping up well with our own photos! I would take plenty but never got around to editing them. Today that changes.
We got to enjoy Maddie's first time at the beach, so of course we had to document! I loved the look on her face when the water touched her little feet for the first time, or the funny look she had feeling the warm sand between her toes. I'll never forget the sound of her little "woah" every time a seagull flew by or the waves crashed. She loved the cool Pacific wind blowing in her face.
From the moment I found out we were going to California, I knew I wanted to get beach photos. I had our outfits planned, scheduled the day we would go, waited until just the right time for the perfect lighting. When it all came together it was magical! I was so giddy the whole time because I knew I'd love them. These are DEFINITELY going on my wall! This may be Rice Family overload for some of you, but really this one is for me. I'm so thankful for this perfect moment that we'll get to treasure forever!
