Daniel + Trinity Maternity Session | DFW Portrait Photographer | Rebecca Rice Photography
Mother's Day is such a special day for moms, but for Trinity, this year it meant the world. It was a symbol of God's faithfulness. It was a celebration of all that he had done this past year. It was a reminder of God's perfect timing and of promises kept. Trinity got to experience her first Mother's Day not filled with longing and heartache of wanting to be a mom, but filled with joy and peace because God had come through.
You see, I recently had the honor of photographing Daniel and Trinity where I met them for the first time. They are a beautiful, sweet couple who is expecting their first little one very soon! Growing families are one of my favorite things to capture because there is so much emotion to remember in seasons of transition like these. The joy and excitement of having a new baby, the anticipation of their arrival, the nervousness that naturally comes with becoming parents, the list could go on and on. These emotions are only heightened when you have a story like Daniel and Trinity.
I didn't know any of their story going into our session. We chatted a bit here and there as we explored the beautiful Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, but it was after our session while waiting on Daniel to bring the car around that Trinity shared with me some of their incredible journey to becoming parents. Daniel and Trinity knew that they wanted to be parents for quite some time. They talked and dreamed about what their kids would be like. They believed that God would bless them with a child and stood on that promise. What they didn't know is that it would be a 2-year journey before God answered that prayer. 2 years of looking at an empty room that should be filled with new life. 2 years of long days and nights in a season of anticipation. 2 years of standing in faith, but asking God when He will come through. 2 Mother's Days come and gone, wondering if the next would be the one they've waited for.
I can't even imagine what this season was like for them. What I do know is that throughout that process, they believed and stood in faith knowing that God had spoken to their hearts. He had asked them to prepare their baby girl's nursery as if she were already conceived and to believe that He would fill it. I'm sure many had their doubts, but Daniel and Trinity were obedient and did just that. They set up a nursery for their little girl before she was even conceived. They knew that God had a plan and would bless them with a child, but they didn't expect to be waiting as long as they did. In that season of waiting, their faith was their anchor that kept them moving forward in the midst of pain and longing to be parents.
Now, 2 years later, the coming arrival of their precious Mercy Grace is such a testimony of God's faithfulness through it all! Their story touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes as Trinity shared it with me in that parking lot. With tears in her eyes, she was able to say with confidence that God came through for them and has given them the greatest gift they've ever received.
Daniel and Trinity, I know you will be amazing parents! I don't know what God has in store for your Mercy Grace, but I know it is something great! Trinity, thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing your story with me. I can't tell you how incredible it is to have met you. To say I am honored to capture these moments for you to treasure forever is a vast understatement. I am so excited to see the ways that God is going to use your family and the many people that you will impact!
