Last week I had the honor of attending The Queen Talk Breakfast Club. The Queen Talk, founded by Bola Ibidapo, is an organization that was created to instill leadership principles in young women to equip them to build their own empire. Bola's vision for The Queen Talk is inspirational to say the least! Her desire and heart to empower young women is one that I truly admire. Young women from many stages of life come together once a month to meet other driven girls, to learn principles to further their leadership, and to grow their empires together. One thing that Bola stands for that I love is that age doesn't matter. You don't have to be 30, 50, or 100 years old to begin building your empire! She reminds each girl that they can do something of importance, something of significance starting right now. If more young people grasped this, I believe our world would be a better place.
This month Bola brought in Celebrity Chef Gabrielle McBay to talk about how she built her culinary empire. Chef Gabby was so down-to-earth and gave some great insight and encouragement to the girls in attendance, and made some delicious french toast! She showed the girls how to make a simple dish look fancy - blow torch and all! It was awesome hearing how Chef Gabby went from selling homemade chocolate chip cookies at school to becoming the incredible chef she is today. I know we all left inspired and ready to go out and do something with the gifts that God has given us!
Bola, I really want to thank you. Thank you for investing in the next generation. Thank you for pouring into young girls and empowering them to achieve more than they think possible. Thank you for believing in them and telling them that their voice does matter. You are making a huge impact in the lives of girls all over, and I know God is pleased with you. I can't wait to see the places that The Queen Talk goes and the ways that God will continue to use you. Thank you for allowing me to be a fly on the wall to watch and listen as these young women learn and grow into world-changers!
