TangoTab Feed the City Plano | Grace Outreach Center
Hunger. It is a problem that is widespread, and the statistics are staggering. Did you know that 1 in 4 kids in Dallas go home from school without food to eat at home? Many people find this extremely upsetting (as they should!), but don't know what to do to help. Enter TangoTab!
TangoTab is a free app that helps to feed someone in need every time their app is used. It's as simple as checking in at a local restaurant through the app, "TangoTab"-ing it, and a person in need will get fed through a local food bank! If you haven't downloaded this app yet, DO IT! It is an extremely easy way to be a part of the solution.
Another solution that TangoTab has come up with to help aid in the problem of hunger is called Feed the City. Every week at different locations around DFW, people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and walks of life come together to make sandwiches that will be given to hungry and homeless people in Dallas. This past Saturday my home church, Grace Outreach Center, hosted as the new Plano location! Grace Outreach Center is a non-denominational church that desires to serve our community in any way that we can to show God's love and to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We had around 200 people making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and bagging chips and fruit, and together made 4,236 MEALS!! That is 4,236 people that will get a meal this week that would have gone hungry!
If you'd like to be a part of the next Feed the City outreach, head over to their Facebook Page to stay up-to-date on where they will be next. Grace Outreach Center will be hosting at 5000 W. Parker Rd on the first Saturday of every month. We'd love to have you join us and help solve the problem of hunger in our community!
